英語でアート！で、アーティストへの質問を学ぶ。
『英語でアート！』（マール社／佐藤実・宮本由紀共著）の由紀さんに、期間限定のマンツーマンレッスンを受けています。5回講座の4回目が終わり、残すところラスト1回です。このレッスンが通常の英会話学習と圧倒的に異なるのは、指導してくださる由紀さんが、長年米国のギャラリーや美術館での仕事をなさっていて、アートの現場での英語を熟知しておられること。そのような方に直接指導していただけるわたしは、つくづくラッキーです。

アートを通して英語を学ぶ Art Alliance
先月のレッスン後は、「おお！」な言い回しをまとめましたので、今回は、アーティストがよく聞かれること（質問事項）を書いておこうと思います。
以下、質問リスト。
- When did he first start creating art work?
- Is there a particular historical period from which he draws inspiration?
- When he executes a work of art, does it come from an inner aesthetic? Or is he reacting to the world around him?
- Is there a reason why he creates his work in a certain size? Is scale important to him?
- Did he ever consider expressing himself in other art forms?
- Does he have a favorite art work among his creations?
- How does the artist know when he’s finished a particular art work?
- Did Kensuke have a challenging moment in his artistic journey? How did he overcome it?
- Does he use symbolism?
- Does religion, or any sort of spiritual belief, play the creation of his work?
- Why did he give it this title?
- “What is art” to Kensuke?
- What part of Kensuke’s work can people identify with?
- What kind of people would you like to sell Kensuke’s work to?
- What kind of environment should his art be shown at?
- Can regular people live with his art in the same place?
- Do you think what does could help socirty?
- Are successful artists responsible for the impact of their work inside sociey?
昨年春に藤吉憲典が英国メディアから受けたインタビューでも、同様の質問項目がいくつもありました。
アーティストに聞きたいことは、英国でも米国でも共通しているようです。つまり、これらの質問リストに対する回答を準備しておけば、ある程度スムーズに受け答えが出来るはず！だということ。いつそのような機会があっても慌てずに対応できるように、準備しておくのがいいですね。
